It’s official: Paul Stamets—the mycological icon, TED Talk legend, and mushroom-guy-in-a-mushroom-hat—is coming to the 2025 Telluride Mushroom Festival.
For anyone even mildly mushroom-curious, this is the event of the year. Think of it as Burning Man meets biology class—except the teachers wear spore-print capes and half the attendees are dressed as fungi.
And Stamets won’t be alone. TMF 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most stacked lineups in mycelial history, featuring:
Paul Stamets
Giuliana Furci – Founder of the Fungi Foundation
Tradd Cotter – Mycoremediation pioneer
Dr. Andrew Weil – Integrative medicine legend
Hamilton Pevec – That’s me—yes, I’ll be speaking too
Whether you’re coming for cutting-edge science, psychedelic policy, or just the party—we’ll be there, in full fruiting body regalia.
Paul Stamets will speak at TMF 2025 alongside major figures in fungi
The festival blends science, culture, costume, and community
Hamilton’s Mushrooms will be giving a talk and attending the legendary Puff Ball afterparty
We’ve won Best Costume multiple times → Our Award-Winning Mushroom Costume at Telluride
If you’re into mushrooms—this is your festival (well, after Eagle Mushroom Festival!)
Mushroom legend Paul Stamets is confirmed for the 2025 Telluride Mushroom Festival, joining a powerhouse lineup that includes Giuliana Furci, Tradd Cotter, Andy Weil—and yes, Hamilton from Hamilton’s Mushrooms. Whether you’re a diehard fan or new to the scene, this is where the global mycological community shows up, suits up, and spores out.
Paul Stamets is a mycologist, author, entrepreneur, and longtime ambassador of the fungal world. He’s written foundational books, given legendary TED Talks, and inspired millions through Fantastic Fungi and his advocacy for both functional and psychedelic mushrooms.
He’s been called the mushroom man, the mycelial messenger, even a planetary healer—and for good reason.
But even giants cast shadows. As the movement matures, new voices are emerging, bringing fresh perspectives, regional traditions, and bold experimentation into the field.
That’s part of what makes Telluride Mushroom Festival 2025 so powerful: it’s a meeting of legends and new leaders, all under one (very spore-filled) tent.
The Telluride Mushroom Festival (TMF) isn’t just a weekend of PowerPoints and Petri dishes. It’s a four-day fusion of science, ritual, mycology, music, activism, and outrageous costuming. Think: mycelium meets masquerade.
This is the only mushroom festival where you might hear a keynote on fungal genomics… then watch a full street parade of mushroom punks, forest nymphs, and spore-slinging shamans.
At Hamilton’s Mushrooms, we’ve been proud to be part of this movement from the inside out.
In 2023 and 2024, we produced the Puff Ball afterparty—TMF’s rowdiest, most beloved late-night event.
We’ve also won Best Costume multiple times (flex)
And yes, we document it → Check out Our Favorite Mushroom Costume
For us, TMF is about my-co-mmunity—people who see fungi not just as medicine or food, but as metaphor, movement, and connection.
This year’s Telluride Mushroom Festival promises to be one of the most dynamic yet. With heavy hitters like Paul Stamets, Giuliana Furci, Tradd Cotter, and Dr. Andrew Weil on the lineup, 2025 is shaping up to be equal parts legacy and evolution.
You can expect:
Breakthrough talks on psychedelic research, fungal ecology, and planetary healing
Panels on Indigenous perspectives, ethnomycology, and decriminalization
Hands-on workshops ranging from cultivation to mushroom dyeing
And of course—raging late-night events, parades, and costumes that border on mythic
I’ll be there too—bringing my own talk to the stage. No spoilers yet, but let’s just say: expect fire, guts, and a little bit of dirt.
Whether you’re coming for the mushroom documentary legend himself (me ;) or just want to dance in a mushroom shirt under the stars, the Telluride Mushroom Festival 2025 is the place to be.
This isn’t just another mushroom festival—it’s where science meets story, costume meets consciousness, and the mycelial web becomes my community or "myco-mmunity".
From Paul Stamets’ legacy to the next generation of fungal thinkers, TMF is more than a weekend—it’s a movement.
If you’re going, we’ll see you there. If you’re on the fence, this is your sign.
We’re not just attending—we’re backing it.
Hamilton’s Mushrooms is an official sponsor of the 2025 Telluride Mushroom Festival, and we’re honored to help support this gathering of scientists, artists, foragers, and fungal futurists.
Whether you’re coming for the lectures, the costumes, or the late-night dance floor, you’ll find us there—fully fruiting, fully fired up.

Paul Stamets is renowned for his extensive work in mycology, particularly in the study and advocacy of medicinal and psychedelic mushrooms. He has authored several influential books, including Mycelium Running and Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World. Stamets is also known for his engaging TED Talks and his appearance in the documentary Fantastic Fungi, which have significantly contributed to public interest in fungi.
Paul Stamets is often seen wearing a distinctive hat made from amadou, a material derived from the tinder fungus (Fomes fomentarius). This fungus has historically been used for fire-starting and crafting due to its fibrous, felt-like texture. The amadou hat is not only functional but also symbolizes Stamets’ deep connection to the fungal world.
A new species of magic mushroom, Psilocybe stametsii, was named in honor of Paul Stamets. Discovered in the cloud forests of Ecuador, this species recognizes Stamets’ decades-long contributions to mycology and his efforts in bringing fungal knowledge to a broader audience.
