My name is Hamilton and I am a mushroom geek (among other things) I also spent most of the last twenty two years as a filmmaker.

I went on my first mushroom hunt in the Trinity alps of northern California during the harvest of 2009. I was fortunate to be guided by someone who had decades of experience and knowledge. Each little factoid they shared with me secured its hold on my interest and eventually hooked me completely. I bought Mushrooms Demystified by David Arora and I taught myself how to identify new mushrooms every season. Now continuing to add new food and wonder to my repertoire each and every year. Taxonomy is a life long learning experience.

A few years later, I dove into cultivation and immersed myself in growing delicious mushrooms. Mostly this is because the Colorado mushroom season is so short! I was inspired to become a farmer and moved to Nepal to be with my wife and we started an organic farm/yoga retreat center, for self healing.

After our first child was born. I returned to the USA to help take care of my grandfather with dementia. I discovered and immersed myself in the complex and fascinating world of functional and medicinal mushrooms.

Mushroom medicine has become my passion. It seems like there is a mushroom for everything that afflicts us. We are learning more and more about these fascinating chemical factories every day.
