Behind the label

We do this the hard way on purpose

Dual extraction costs more. Third-party testing on every batch costs more. Sourcing from certified organic farms in the Wuyi Mountains instead of the cheapest supplier costs more. We do it this way because the alternative is selling something we would not take ourselves.

What's inside

Pure Mushrooms

We start with mushroom fruiting bodies, which naturally contain the highest concentrations of bioactive compounds. We intentionally include mycelium where the research supports it.

Intentional mycelium where it matters

Mind Mix and Lucid Lion's Mane include mycelium powder to capture compounds found only in the mycelium. True Chaga is made from sclerotia. When the science supports it, we use it.

100% mushroom: no fillers, no grain

No grain, no maltodextrin, no non-mushroom fillers. We use a precipitation method during extraction and include 20% pure mushroom powder for the fiber, and as an excipient.

Verified by third-party labs

Every batch is tested for beta-glucans, and species-specific compounds. Potency test results are listed on each product page.

Certifications

Who Holds Us Accountable

We work with independent certifying bodies and testing laboratories. These are the organizations that audit our supply chain, verify our claims, and test our products.

USDA Organic

All powdered extracts carry the USDA Organic seal. Grown on organic substrates, verified through annual audits of the full supply chain from farm to finished product.

CCOF Certified

Organic certification administered by California Certified Organic Farmers, one of the oldest and most respected organic certifying agencies in the United States.

Ceres Certified

International organic certification covering the growing and initial processing stages at origin. Standards are verified before product ever leaves the farm.

Eurofins Tested

DAkkS-accredited Eurofins labs test for over 500 pesticides and herbicides. We also test for heavy metals and microbial contaminants including mold and salmonella.

Where it comes from

Responsibly Sourced

The same species grown in different conditions can produce very different levels of active compounds. Our extracts originate in the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province, the epicenter of traditional mushroom cultivation.

1,400 years of cultivation

Recorded mushroom cultivation here dates back to 609 CE. Getting your mushrooms from the Wuyi Mountains is like getting your olive oil from the Mediterranean.

Dedicated family farms

Small family farms, each located for ideal growing conditions. Cordyceps is cultivated indoors. Chaga and Turkey Tail are wild-harvested.

Strict growing standards

Farms are audited for clean water, clean air, and organic practices. Mushrooms are cultivated on natural hardwood substrates.

Every Batch is Tested

Third-party laboratories test every batch before it ships, and every bag traces back to its specific lab results. Potency results are listed on each product page so you know exactly what you're getting.

01

Potency testing

Measures the levels of key active compounds like beta-glucans, triterpenes, cordycepin, and other species-specific markers. Results are listed on every product page.

02

Purity testing

Screens for heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, microbial contaminants like mold and salmonella, and residual solvents. Every batch must pass before it ships.

03

Beta-glucan verified

We test beta-glucans specifically, not just total polysaccharides. It's the active-compound number that actually matters, and the one most brands skip.

How we extract

Dual Extraction

Different compounds dissolve in different solvents. A single extraction method leaves valuable compounds behind. We use both hot water and alcohol to capture a more complete profile.

Hot water extraction

Breaks the chitin cell wall and releases water-soluble compounds like beta-glucans that your body cannot access from raw mushroom material.

Alcohol extraction

Targets species-specific, alcohol-soluble aromatic compounds. Such as terpenes and other constituents, that hot water alone cannot effectively capture and may partially damage during extraction.

Spray-dried and water-soluble

The liquids are separated from the solids, evaporated, spray dried and then combined as a fine powder. No maltodextrin, no fillers. Add a scoop to any warm beverage, stir, and drink.

Why this matters

How to Read a Mushroom Label

Understanding what is actually in a mushroom supplement is more complicated than most brands want you to think.
Here is what to look for.

Concentration ratios are misleading

Many brands advertise ratios like 50:1 or 100:1 as potency indicators. These numbers describe how much raw material went in, not what active compounds came out. Without beta-glucan and triterpene percentages, a ratio tells you very little.

Polysaccharide counts can be inflated

High polysaccharide content is often used as a marketing claim. But starch is a polysaccharide too, and grain-grown mycelium products can test high in polysaccharides while containing very few actual beta-glucans. The distinction matters.

We test for the specific compounds

We list the actual percentages of beta-glucans, triterpenes, cordycepin, and other species-specific markers, on each product page. This gives you the clarity you need to compare products and make informed decisions.

Common questions

Before You Decide

Where are your mushrooms grown?

Our mushrooms are grown in China's Fujian Province and Wuyi Mountain region, where species like Shiitake have been cultivated for centuries. We source from there for the same reason you would want olive oil from the Mediterranean: these species grow best where they evolved. Our farms are USDA and Ceres certified organic, and every batch is screened by Eurofins for over 500 pesticides and herbicides.

What is the difference between your extracts and regular mushroom powders?

Most mushroom products are ground-up mushroom powder, dried and milled but not extracted. Our products are dual-extracted using both hot water and alcohol, which pulls out the active compounds (beta-glucans, triterpenes, cordycepin) that your body can actually absorb. We test for these compounds and list a QR code on every label to see the test reults for the batch you are buying. If a product does not list its active compound percentages, there is usually a reason.

Can you provide lab results for your extracts?

Yes. Lab results are available upon request. Email us at support@hamiltonsmushrooms.com and let us know which product you are interested in. We test for potency (beta-glucans, triterpenes, cordycepin, and other species-specific markers), and purity (heavy metals, pesticides, microbial contaminants) on every single batch.

How should I take your extracts?

Add a scoop to any warm beverage, stir well, and drink. Hot liquids help the powder dissolve more easily. Most people add it to coffee, tea, cacao, or a smoothie. Start with 1 to 2 teaspoons daily for the first few weeks, then reduce to half a teaspoon as a maintenance amount. Listen to your body and adjust as you go.

Can I take more than one product at a time?

Yes. Most of our customers use two or more extracts together, which is why we built the bundles. Each mushroom species contains different active compounds that work through different pathways. Combining Lion's Mane with Cordyceps, for example, helps support both cognitive function and physical energy. The bundles pair complementary formulas so you do not have to guess.
